The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice takedown defense from Lord. No joy for Howlett on that attempt.
Lord's coach down at Scouse House was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Lord's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

Howlett is trying to drag Lord to the mat but Lord just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Lord stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
Lord scores with a nice hook to the head.
Nice body punch from Lord - that landed with a thud.
Lord digs a right hand into Howlett's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Howlett's gas tank.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Lord swings wildly with an uppercut but Howlett uses good head movement to avoid it.
Howlett seems to have got his legs back now.
Lord lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Howlett backwards.
Lord creates a bit of space for himself and rocks Howlett with a big uppercut! Howlett tries to clinch up but Lord pushes him back against the cage and lands another monster strike that crumples Howlett to the mat! Howlett covers up and Lord unloads with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!
