PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jerome Alviso (ranked 3667 p4p, 401 weight class) and Bogdan Yanovich (ranked 3536 p4p, 390 weight class). Alviso comes to the cage accompanied by Pooh Man-Oakland. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yanovich swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Alviso tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Yanovich was well out of range. Poor timing from Alviso.

Yanovich has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.

Alviso jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Yanovich walks away with a smile on his face. Alviso gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

A quick step to the side and Alviso tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Alviso throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Yanovich.
Alviso takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Alviso connects with a good right hand that stumbles Yanovich. Yanovich circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
This has been an exciting period of action!

and Alviso counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

and Yanovich counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Yanovich.
Alviso is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Yanovich is defending well.
Yanovich lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Alviso backwards.

Yanovich lands a hook that snaps the head of Alviso backwards.
Oh Alviso is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Alviso tries to pull guard but Yanovich forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Alviso has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Yanovich avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Yanovich lands a right hand that snaps the head of Alviso backwards.
Yanovich creates a bit of space for himself and rocks Alviso with a big uppercut! Alviso tries to clinch up but Yanovich pushes him back against the cage and lands another monster strike that crumples Alviso to the mat! Alviso covers up and Yanovich unloads with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!
