PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Francisco dAnconia (ranked 1013 p4p, 154 weight class) and Connor Mac Burns (ranked 1221 p4p, 177 weight class). dAnconia's entrance music is Revolution. A fine choice. Burns has chosen as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Burns throws a hook but dAnconia blocks it.

Burns fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.

dAnconia bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
dAnconia takes a swing at Burns's ribcage but misses.
dAnconia swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

Burns connects with a body shot that sends dAnconia's belly button to the back.
That kick from dAnconia tenderised Burns's leg. Burns is trying to keep his angry face on.

Burns's hands are dropping dangerously low here and dAnconia connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Burns scrambles back to his feet.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
dAnconia stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Burns swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Francisco dAnconia seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Burns throws out a loose jab but dAnconia uses good head movement to avoid it.
And dAnconia counters with a quick kick to the body but Burns blocks it.
Burns is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down dAnconia rather than just go for the knockout.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

That was a close round but I would say that Francisco dAnconia will probably get the nod.

Burns is clearly trying to counter these attacks from dAnconia with a body shot.

Burns lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Connor Mac Burns decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
Francisco dAnconia was interviewed post fight and said 'Who is John Galt?'.
