Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Ralph Bonnano (ranked 2982 p4p, 141 weight class) and Jimmy Carruthers (ranked 3634 p4p, 167 weight class). Ralph Bonnano has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carruthers connects with a body shot.
Bonnano tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Carruthers defends well and Bonnano ends up having to push Carruthers into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Carruthers stuns Bonnano with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Carruthers connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Carruthers wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Carruthers throws out a leg kick but Bonnano moves out of range and Carruthers only half commits.
Carruthers lands with a good body shot.
Bonnano looks to land a combination but Carruthers avoids it well.

Bonnano shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Carruthers manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Carruthers is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Bonnano is controlling him.

Bonnano thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Bonnano wants to control from the top but Carruthers keeps moving.
Carruthers really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Bonnano. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Bonnano wants to control from the top but Carruthers keeps moving.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Bonnano connects with a crisp jab.

and Carruthers counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Bonnano misses with a few strikes there.
Bonnano misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Carruthers let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.

Carruthers throws a good cross that connects.
Bonnano throws a hook to the side of Carruthers's head but Carruthers sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Bonnano will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ralph Bonnano. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Carruthers feints with a jab and clips Bonnano right behind the ear with a massive overhand right! Bonnano is sent crashing into the canvas and Carruthers leaps in for the kill! Bonnano tries to get to his feet but Carruthers is just battering him from every conceivable angle. The ref decides that Bonnano is in need of a savior and steps in!
