The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, Dirk Anderson and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rodriguez misses with a series of wild punches.
Hamada is looking to clinch but Rodriguez is avoiding it.
Rodriguez throws a head kick but Hamada moves out of range.
Hamada tries to counter with a clinch but Rodriguez shakes him off and moves away.
Rodriguez defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Hamada.
Rodriguez has closed the distance and engaged Hamada in a clinch.
Rodriguez tries a knee to the head but Hamada blocks it.
Rodriguez avoiding damage as Hamada throws knees to the body.
Hamada fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Rodriguez has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Hamada after a bit of a struggle.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rodriguez is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Hamada tries to break the clinch but Rodriguez is controlling the position.
Rodriguez really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Rodriguez ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Rodriguez no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Hamada thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Rodriguez looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Hamada wants to pass the guard but Rodriguez is keeping the position.
Hamada missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Rodriguez looking to hit a scissor sweep but Hamada is one step ahead there.
Hamada is looking to work some ground and pound but Rodriguez has wrist control.
Hamada wants to pass the guard but Rodriguez is keeping the position.
Rodriguez working for submissions but it's allowed Hamada to get to half guard.
Hamada lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Hamada is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Rodriguez is just riding it out for now. Hamada eventually gives up the hold.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hamada is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Hamada is working for a submission of some sort.
