Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Trevor Young!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Cain Alvarado!
The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Felipe Paraventi and Edson Gomes.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Young misses with a body kick.

Young drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Alvarado is looking for a sweep.
Young lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.

Young tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Young stands up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Alvarado looks to throw a body kick

and Young counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Young slows the pace down in half guard.

Alvarado looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.

Alvarado won't allow Young to pass to mount.
Alvarado is refusing to be controlled, as Young sits in half guard.
Young passes the guard and advances to mount!
Young sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Alvarado is bucking up trying to escape but Young cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Alvarado really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Young breaks from Alvarado's wrist control and lands an elbow.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Young lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

Young working for a submission but Alvarado is keeping him at bay.
Alvarado keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Young pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Alvarado tries to improve his position but instead Young has taken his back!
Young controlling the position well here. Alvarado rolled but Young kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.
Young has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Alvarado tries to break free.

Young working for the choke.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Young is trying to stick to Alvarado's back but Alvarado is turning into Young. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Young's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Alvarado.
Young is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Alvarado wants to pass the guard but Young is keeping the position.
Young looking for a sweep. Not yet Young, not yet.
Young trying to control the position here.

Alvarado drops back, looking for a kneebar! Young looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Young looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Young!

Alvarado is not content to let Young control the position.
A lull in the action here as Young stalls from top position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Alvarado is trying to improve his position.

Young has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Alvarado lands with a straight right. Young didn't see that one coming.

Young takes the fight into the clinch.
Alvarado is trying to break the clinch but Young has him pressed against the cage.

Alvarado is fighting off a takedown attempt but Young is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Alvarado to the mat. Alvarado regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Alvarado is wriggling around but Young manages to pass to half guard.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Young controlling the action here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Trevor Young dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Young takes one to the side of the head.
Alvarado lands a two punch combo.
Alvarado lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.


Young is rocked!
Young blocks a head kick by Alvarado.
Oh Young is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Alvarado cracks Young with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Young tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Alvarado pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Young is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:26 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Cain Alvarado!
