Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Billy Patton (ranked 6798 p4p, 646 weight class) and Kong Dunnachai (ranked 2029 p4p, 281 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Billy Patton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Kong Dunnachai!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Dirk Anderson and Peter Branson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Patton shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Dunnachai's guard.
Patton trying to control the position from guard on top but Dunnachai is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Patton trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Patton stands up from Dunnachai's guard - Patton perhaps looking for a knockout.
Dunnachai leaves Patton with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Dunnachai throws out a counter right but Patton avoids it with no problem.
Dunnachai keeps the fight on the outside.

Patton darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Dunnachai looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Patton wants to pass the guard but Dunnachai is defending well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Dunnachai is staying active underneath Patton, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Patton sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Dunnachai defending well though.
Dunnachai is looking for a sweep. Patton is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Dunnachai is looking to escape.

Patton is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Dunnachai sees it coming and defends easily.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Dunnachai wants to control but Patton is keeping busy.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Patton throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Dunnachai's waist but Dunnachai gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Patton off to one side.
Dunnachai ducks down and throws a hook to the body.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Dunnachai comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Patton on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Dunnachai lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Dunnachai digs a good body shot into Patton's ribs.
Patton gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Dunnachai counters with a left to the body.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Billy Patton. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Patton is breathing heavily.
Dunnachai lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.


It looks like Billy Patton has been cut.
Dunnachai scores with a hook to the body. Patton takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Donk. Dunnachai catches Patton right on the button with a cross.
Dunnachai is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.

Dunnachai drives through with a takedown into Patton's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Dunnachai stays in close to Patton's body and controls the position.
Dunnachai pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Patton is keeping the position for now.

Patton will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Dunnachai throwing strikes but missing.
Patton looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Dunnachai won't allow Patton to get back to his feet.
Patton is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Patton wants to take a breather but Dunnachai is having none of it.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Dunnachai avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Patton.
Dunnachai keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Dunnachai tries to roll over but Patton keeps him under control.
Dunnachai trying to control but Patton postures up.

Patton is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Dunnachai defends it well.
Dunnachai holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kong Dunnachai dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Billy Patton's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Dunnachai throws a body punch but Patton moves out of range.
Dunnachai feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Pattons jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Kong Dunnachai seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Patton pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.

Patton forces Dunnachai back against the cage and clinches.
Dunnachai misses with a punch to the body.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Patton.
Patton has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Dunnachai is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Dunnachai cracks Patton with a nice body shot.
Dunnachai misses with a body punch.
Patton prevents a body shot from Dunnachai.

Dunnachai breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Dunnachai has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Dunnachai fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Patton manages to avoid it.
Billy Patton is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Dunnachai lands a nice hook to Patton's body. Patton takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Patton misses with an attempted mid kick.
Nice cross by Dunnachai.
Dunnachai smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.

Patton shoots in looking for a takedown. Dunnachai tries to sprawl out of it but Patton keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Dunnachai manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Billy Patton's cut is getting worse.
Patton wants to clinch.
Patton throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Patton fails with the takedown
and Dunnachai counters with a left to the body.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Billy Patton. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Dunnachai scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.

Dunnachai lands with an overhand left.
Dunnachai connects with the punch.
Nice sprawl there from Dunnachai as Patton shoots in.
Dunnachai ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Dunnachai lands with a light punch inside.
Dunnachai throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Pattons head.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Dunnachai.


Patton is rocked!


Billy Patton's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
Dunnachai stalling in the clinch.
Dunnachai controlling the action here for a moment.
The referee is keeping an eye on Patton - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Dunnachai effectively controlling the action here.

Dunnachai lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Patton.
Dunnachai lands a hook to the side of the head.
Dunnachai lands a nice uppercut.
Patton has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Dunnachai holding his opponent close, against the cage.

Patton drags the fight down to the ground.
Billy Patton overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Dunnachai prevents Patton from getting back to his feet.
Patton avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Dunnachai content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Patton is striking but Dunnachai is not phased and passes to half guard.

Dunnachai is taking a breather. Patton says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Dunnachai is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Patton wants to get back to his feet.
Patton regains full guard. Nicely done.
Patton looking for a sweep. Not yet Patton, not yet.
Patton controlling the position.
Dunnachai stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Patton swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Dunnachai connects with a single shot there.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kong Dunnachai showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The cut man is working on Billy Patton's cut.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

and Dunnachai counters with a nice body shot.
Patton fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Patton drops his hands momentarily and Dunnachai takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.


Jeez, Billy Patton's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.
Dunnachai lands with a straight right. Patton didn't see that one coming.
Dunnachai lands a lovely overhand right.
Dunnachai scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Patton drops his hands momentarily and Dunnachai takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Billy Patton's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:54 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Kong Dunnachai!
Our winner, Kong Dunnachai, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
