Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Don Petersen (ranked 1111 p4p, 148 weight class) and Luke Jackson (ranked 1440 p4p, 188 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Don Petersen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Luke Jackson!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Cecil Peabody and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jackson uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Petersen.
Jackson pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Petersen tries to counter with a takedown but Jackson is quick to defend against it.
Petersen throws a hook to the side of Jackson's head but Jackson sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Jackson works Petersen's body with a nice hook.
Petersen throws a leg kick that misses.
Jackson uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Petersen has time to react.
Jackson scores with a sloppy right hand. Petersen should have avoided that one.

and Petersen counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Petersen in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Petersen postures up in Jackson's guard and throws a big left but Jackson blocks it.
Petersen wants to pass the guard but Jackson is keeping the position.
Petersen has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Petersen has gone for a leg lock! Jackson slips out almost immediately though and dives into Petersen's guard.

Jackson wants to get up but he can't break Petersen's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Jackson slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Let's hope that Jackson has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Jackson wants to pass the guard but Petersen is keeping the position.

Petersen bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Jackson's guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

A momentary lapse in concentration from Jackson enables Petersen to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Jackson manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Petersen is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Jackson sees it coming and defends easily.
Jackson tries to kick Petersen off but Petersen keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Petersen is looking for a kimura but Jackson is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Petersen to get the leverage.
Jackson wants to improve his position but Petersen is controlling well.

Petersen is working for a kimura but Jackson is defending it quite comfortably.

Petersen is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Jackson is just riding it out for now. Petersen eventually gives up the hold.

Jackson fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Petersen on the side of the head.
The fighters circle momentarily. Petersen darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Jackson throws out a powerful jab.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
