Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Anthony Gilmore (ranked 1636 p4p, 222 weight class) and Nate Baker Jr (ranked 6995 p4p, 616 weight class). Anthony Gilmore has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Anthony Gilmore!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Nate Baker Jr!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Alan Glass and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gilmore gets caught flat footed, as Baker Jr shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Baker Jr postures up in Gilmore's guard and throws a big left but Gilmore blocks it.
Baker Jr throws a big elbow that misses.
Baker Jr looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Gilmore looking to hit a scissor sweep but Baker Jr is one step ahead there.
Baker Jr sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Gilmore's guard.
Baker Jr is trying to control the action in half guard but Gilmore is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Gilmore has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Baker Jr is working away from the top position though.

Baker Jr is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Gilmore sees it coming and defends easily.
Baker Jr not landing any meaningful shots this time.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Baker Jr is looking to take a break and control but Gilmore is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Baker Jr drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Gilmore dives on top into guard.

Gilmore throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Baker Jr works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Gilmore seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Gilmore chips away with some ground and pound.

Baker Jr is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Baker Jr wants to improve his position but instead Gilmore has moved into half guard.
Gilmore seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Baker Jr does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Gilmore is working for a submission of some sort.
Gilmore throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Baker Jr is not content to let Gilmore control the position.
Baker Jr moves into full guard.
Baker Jr looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Gilmore stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Baker Jr swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Gilmore lands a couple of digs.

and Gilmore counters with an outside leg kick.
Baker Jr misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Anthony Gilmore is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Gilmore keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
It looked like Gilmore was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Sloppy strikes from Gilmore. Those never looked like landing.
Baker Jr shoots in looking for a takedown. Gilmore tries to sprawl out of it but Baker Jr keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Gilmore manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Anthony Gilmore has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Nate Baker Jr.

Baker Jr doesn't manage to clinch there - Gilmore circles away.
Gilmore was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Gilmore connects with a body shot.
Gilmore turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Gilmore dodges the punch combination from Baker Jr.
A combination from Baker Jr does no damage.
Baker Jr fails with the takedown

and Gilmore counters by clinching up.
Baker Jr is breathing heavily.
Gilmore taking a breather.

Gilmore breaks the clinch.
Baker Jr fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Baker Jr swinging wildly here.

Gilmore swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Gilmore missing with a left hand there. Baker Jr was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Gilmore fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Baker Jr manages to avoid it.
Gilmore throws a nice looking combination but Baker Jr bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Gilmore tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Gilmore throws a body punch but Baker Jr moves out of range.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Gilmore throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Baker Jr avoids a punch combination nicely.
Jab, jab by Gilmore - just one landing.
Baker Jr lands with a nice body punch.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Baker Jr fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
It looked like Gilmore was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Baker Jr throws a right hand that Gilmore ducks under and follows up with a left that Gilmore also avoids with ease.
Baker Jr falls off balance throwing a combination

and Gilmore counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Gilmore.

Baker Jr pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Baker Jr has his takedown stuffed
and Gilmore counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Baker Jr takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.

Gilmore connects with a body shot.
Baker Jr is still on wobbly legs! Can Gilmore finish him?
Baker Jr has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Gilmore.
Baker Jr chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Gilmore can pounce on him.
Baker Jr seems to have recovered his senses.
Gilmore is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Baker Jr can do to turn this around?
BOOM! Gilmore lands a beautiful left hook that drops Baker Jr. Baker Jr tries to recover but Gilmore is having none of it, landing more punishing shots from mount. One final crushing shot and Baker Jr lies motionless on the canvas. The fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Anthony Gilmore!
After winning the bout, Anthony Gilmore thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
