PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight kickboxing rules bout between Pony Pony (ranked 20149 p4p, 642 weight class) and Tarvo Jaak (ranked 21262 p4p, 688 weight class). Jaak has chosen Ludacris - Move Bitch as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pony tries to land a front kick but Jaak steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Pony wants to clinch up but Jaak keeps it at a distance.
Jaak throws out a loose jab but Pony uses good head movement to avoid it.
Jaak swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Pony looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Jaak throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
We've been informed that Jaak has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Jaak throws a poor cross that misses

and Pony counters with a big 3 punch combo that drops Jaak on his ass! Jaak wobbles back to his feet half way through the count and though looking a bit dazed, the referee is going to allow the fight to continue!
Jaak buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Jaak throws a hook to the side of Pony's head but Pony sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Jaak pivots, looking for a leg kick but Pony is out of range and Jaak settles back down.
As Jaak looks to move away, Pony throws a big counter combo but Jaak just gets out of the way.

Pony swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.
Jaak throws a body punch but Pony moves out of range.
A slapping body kick lands there for Pony.
Pony slips under a jab from Jaak.
Jaak takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?

It looked like Pony wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Jaak cracks Pony with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.

Pony on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

Jaak lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Pony backs up against the ropes.
Jaak thuds his right hand into Pony's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Jaak avoids the head kick by Pony.
Jaak has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Pony throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Jaak throws a body punch but Pony moves out of range.
It looked like Pony was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Jaak.
Jaak throws a jab but it's blocked by Pony.
Jaak looks to land a left hand but Pony moved out of range nicely.

Tarvo Jaak seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Pony lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Pony lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.

and Pony counters with a good, hard body kick but Jaak shrugs it off.

Tarvo Jaak showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Pony tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Jaak lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Pony has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Pony and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
It appears Pony was looking to counter with a kick there.
Jaak moves out of range of the leg kick from Pony.
Jaak throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Pony stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Jaak scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Jaak dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Pony. That did some damage!

The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Jaak. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.
Good leg kick by Jaak there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Jaak throws a looping overhand right but Pony ducks down to avoid it.

Pony takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Pony went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Jaak throws a body kick, spinning off balance
and Pony counters with a left and a right... and another left... and another!! That last one turned off the lights! Jaak has no idea who he is and is as he gazes up at the spotlights. Brutal knockout!
