Coming up we have a super heavyweight kickboxing rules bout between Scott Columbus (ranked 18035 p4p, 252 weight class) and Shane Ripgut (ranked 4294 p4p, 100 weight class). Columbus comes to the ring accompanied by Blood Of The Kings. Ripgut has chosen Eminence front-the who as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 20 - 13 - 1, fighting out of London, Scott Columbus!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 32 - 15 - 0, fighting out of London, Shane Ripgut!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Colin Fotheringham and Chris Edwards.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Columbus lands a nice leg kick that just misses Ripgut's sensitive parts.
Ripgut misses with an uppercut. Columbus saw that one coming.
Ripgut takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Ripgut misses with a looping right.
Columbus scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Columbus misses the body punch
and Ripgut counters with a three punch combo that has Columbus backing up. Columbus nods at Ripgut to acknowledge the strikes.
Ripgut is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Columbus throws a leg kick but Ripgut checks it.
Donk. Columbus catches Ripgut right on the button with a cross.
Columbus attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Columbus scores with a nice head shot.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Columbus has a couple of punches blocked by Ripgut.

Ripgut breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

and Columbus counters with a nice uppercut.

Ripgut misses with a series of wild punches.

Ripgut forces Columbus back against the ropes and clinches.

Ripgut tries to break the clinch but Columbus is controlling the position.

Ripgut breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Ripgut looks low and kicks high, catching Columbus right on the side of the head, sending him crashing to the canvas! Will he be able to beat the count? 3,4,5 - he's already back to his feet and ready to go! Let's see if he's still with it!


It looks like Scott Columbus has been cut.
Ripgut tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Columbus throws a hook but Ripgut avoids it easily.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Ripgut! But no joy.
Columbus moves out of range of the strikes.
Columbus fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Ripgut.
Ripgut has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Ripgut misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Columbus throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Ripgut on the side of the head.

Ripgut cracks Columbus with a perfect right hand that drops him to the mat! Columbus is sitting up but I can't see if he's OK from my position. The referee's count has reached 5,6,7 and Columbus is still not up. Can he make it? 8,9, he's up! Wow, he cut that one a bit fine!
Ripgut throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Columbus is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Ripgut misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Ripgut throws a wild body kick that Columbus sees coming a mile off.
Columbus is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Ripgut.
Columbus is looking light on his feet compared to last time was saw him fight.
Columbus tries to clinch up but Ripgut circles away and keeps his distance.
Columbus connects with a nice looking jab.
A slapping body kick lands there for Columbus.
A nice leg kick lands there from Columbus.
Columbus throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Ripgut tries to clinch up against the ropes, rushing in to close the distance. Columbus manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Columbus blocks a head kick by Ripgut.
Columbus lands with an uppercut that bounces Ripgut off the ropes and back into range.
Nice uppercut lands for Ripgut. That snapped Columbus's head back.
Shane Ripgut seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Columbus instigates a clinch.
Columbus lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Ripgut backwards.
Columbus tries a body shot but Ripgut blocks it.
Columbus goes for a body shot but it's blocked.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Shane Ripgut will get the nod in that round, having scored multiple knockdowns.

Shane Ripgut seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Columbus misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Columbus tries to throw a body punch but Ripgut avoids it by throwing Columbus back against the ropes.
Columbus lands a body shot in the clinch.
Ripgut is trying to break the clinch but Columbus is controlling him.
Ripgut looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Columbus misses with a short punch on the inside.
Columbus misses with the head strike.
Ripgut has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Ripgut wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Columbus.

Ripgut is trying to force a seperation but Columbus has the dominant position.

Ripgut breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Shane Ripgut is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Ripgut needs to keep his hands up - Columbus had a free shot at his head there.
Ripgut misses with a shot to the body
and Columbus counters with a straight right hand.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Columbus delivers a nice body kick.
Ripgut is breathing heavily.
Ripgut on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Columbus connects with the punch.
Columbus lands a right and a left and another right! Ripgut goes down! Oh, he's in big, big trouble! 3,4,5,6,7,8... he's up to one knee... 9,10! He can't beat the count - this one is all over!
