Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Devyn Kramer (ranked 6215 p4p, 576 weight class) and Mark Mitchell (ranked 5320 p4p, 532 weight class). Mark Mitchell is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Devyn Kramer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mark Mitchell!
The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Jonathan Paton and John Kavanagh.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kramer steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Mitchell. That one must have hurt.
Mark Mitchell seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Mitchell scores with a three punch combo!
Kramer tries to clinch but Mitchell is having none of it.
Mitchell lands with a nice body kick.
Kramer moves in looking to clinch but Mitchell pushes him off.
Kramer lands a right hook to the body.

Mitchell rushes Kramer and presses him up against the cage.

Kramer pulls guard successfully.
Kramer looking for a sweep. Not yet Kramer, not yet.

Mitchell is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Mitchell throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Kramer works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Mitchell must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Mitchell drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Mitchell jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Donk. Mitchell catches Kramer right on the button with a cross.
Kramer leaves Mitchell with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Kramer shoots for a double leg takedown but Mitchell sprawls well. He's pushed Kramer's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

As Mitchell tries to get set, Kramer tries to push him back and clinch up but Mitchell manages to avoid the attempt.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Nice takedown defense from Kramer. No joy for Mitchell on that attempt.
Mitchell looks to land a combination but Kramer avoids it well.
As Mitchell tries to get set, Kramer tries to push him back and clinch up but Mitchell manages to avoid the attempt.

Kramer gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Mitchell.
Nice sprawl there from Mitchell as Kramer shoots in.
Mitchell connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Kramer's hands.

Kramer changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Mitchell tries to avoid it but Kramer manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Mitchell to the ground. Mitchell escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Kramer throws the kick towards the body but Mitchell avoids it.

Kramer jinks towards his opponent looking like he wants to counter with a mid kick but doesn't commit.
Mitchell shoots for a takedown but Kramer saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Mitchell dives in for a single leg takedown but Kramer sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Kramer tries to close the distance and clinch up but Mitchell swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Mitchell lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.

Kramer shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Mitchell as he avoids it easily.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Mitchell goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Mitchell shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Kramer wants to clinch up but Mitchell keeps it at a distance.

Mitchell drops his hands momentarily and Kramer takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Kramer looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Kramer has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Kramer has gone for a leg lock! Mitchell slips out almost immediately though and dives into Kramer's guard.

Mitchell with a flurry of punches that miss.

Mitchell stands up and waves to Kramer to follow him.
Kramer walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Crunch! Mitchell slams his shin into Kramer's torso.

Mitchell slips a jab and a cross from Kramer.
Despite the aggression on Mitchell's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
Mitchell darts in looking for a takedown but Kramer gets double underhooks and turns Mitchell into the cage.
Devyn Kramer has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mark Mitchell.

Kramer slaps away a takedown attempt from Mitchell, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Mitchell is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Kramer throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Mitchell's waist but Mitchell gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Kramer off to one side.

Mitchell breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Kramer fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Mitchell sprawls well initially but Kramer persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Mitchell manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Kramer keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.
Mitchell is pushing Kramer up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Kramer will be looking to protect his midsection after taking some solid kicks to the body.
Mitchell lands with a light punch inside.

Mitchell's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Kramer slips a jab and a cross from Mitchell.

Mark Mitchell showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Kramer's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!


Mitchell works over Kramer's head and body with a nice combination.

Kramer takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Kramer has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Mitchell.
Kramer sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Mitchell has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off.

Mitchell closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Mitchell escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Mitchell. Kramer shrugs it off though.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Mitchell shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Kramer but Kramer pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Mitchell.

Mitchell lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

Kramer throws a sloppy head kick and Mitchell moves out of range easily.
Kramer looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Mitchell is fending him off so far but Kramer persists. Nope, Mitchell circles away and we're back to standing.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Mitchell scores with a one two! Kramer had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.

Mitchell shoots in looking for a takedown but Kramer manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Mitchell's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Mitchell has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Kramer throws a push kick but Mitchell slaps the foot to one side.

Devyn Kramer has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Mark Mitchell is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Kramer drops back looking for a leg! Mitchell is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Mitchell manages to kick Kramer off! Kramer jumps back into Mitchell's guard.

And that's the end of the fight!

Well Mitchell has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
