Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Falto Balringer (ranked 6329 p4p, 0 weight class) and Denver McCleveland (ranked 7759 p4p, 0 weight class). Denver McCleveland will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Falto Balringer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Denver McCleveland!
The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Matti Vanhoillinen and Marco Blurström.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McCleveland misses with a takedown

and Balringer counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Balringer.

McCleveland has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Balringer can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Balringer knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for McCleveland on the ground.
Balringer wants to control from the top but McCleveland keeps moving.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
McCleveland is trying to control the position but Balringer postures up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Balringer drops back, looking for a kneebar! McCleveland looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. McCleveland looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from McCleveland!

McCleveland tries to stand but Balringer is controlling his head.

McCleveland is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Balringer has escaped the position, nice work there.
You can see the frustration on Balringer's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
McCleveland is working Balringer over with some ground and pound from side control.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Balringer shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as McCleveland sprawls well. McCleveland wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Balringer gets slowly back to his feet.
McCleveland has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Balringer gets caught napping as McCleveland dives in and scores a takedown. Balringer manages to retain guard.
Balringer wants to control the position but McCleveland says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Balringer looking for subs off his back but McCleveland has passed one foot through into half guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
It looks like McCleveland is going to stand back up.
Balringer wants to control but McCleveland is keeping busy.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

Balringer misses with a takedown attempt - McCleveland sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

McCleveland drops back looking for a leg! Balringer is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Balringer manages to kick McCleveland off! McCleveland jumps back into Balringer's guard.

Denver McCleveland showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!


Balringer closes the distance and clinches up with McCleveland, looking for a takedown. Balringer pushes McCleveland against the cage but McCleveland circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
McCleveland shoots in for a takedown but Balringer shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
McCleveland takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
McCleveland looks like he wanted to counter with a high kick but didn't throw it.

McCleveland moves into range and clinches up with Balringer.

McCleveland breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
McCleveland misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
McCleveland throws a head kick that misses.

Balringer shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Balringer was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
McCleveland gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Balringer is looking to pass McCleveland's guard but actually McCleveland recovers to full guard.

Balringer postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
McCleveland wants to get back to his feet but Balringer is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Balringer postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! McCleveland is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Balringer, into his guard.

Balringer wants to hit a switch here but McCleveland passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Balringer there!

Balringer has left one of his arms exposed and McCleveland doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Balringer screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.
