The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Lou da Vinci and Bruno Lombardi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Scar pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Whitfield fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Scar moves into the clinch successfully.
Scar ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Scar no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Whitfield trying to control but Scar is working from the bottom.
Scar wants to sweep but no luck.
Scar throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Scar is controlling Whitfield's posture.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Whitfield working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Scar scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Scar lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Scar.
It looks like Patricia Whitfield has been cut.
Whitfield shoots in and drives through. Scar sprawls well.
Scar moves into the clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Scar leaning against his opponent.
Whitfield jumps guard but Scar stands there with Whitfield around his waist. Whitfield gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Whitfield is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Scar is trying to push Whitfield away but Whitfield has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Scar is leaning against Whitfield and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.
Whitfield pulls guard successfully.
Scar stays in close to Whitfield's body and controls the position.
Scar throws a big right hand that misses.
Scar stands and throws Whitfield's legs to the side, diving into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Scar in side control, just content to control the action for now.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Scar stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Whitfield really is a fat lump.
Scar shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Whitfield's guard.
Whitfield knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Scar on the ground.
Whitfield working a defensive guard but Scar manages to pass into side control anyway.
Whitfield is letting Scar control him for a moment.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Scar misses with the ground and pound.
Whitfield trying to remain calm as Scar controls from the top position.
You can see the frustration on Whitfield's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Whitfield takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Whitfield is trying to control Scar's posture but Scar avoids it.
Whitfield is letting Scar control him for a moment.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Marcus Scar dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Patricia Whitfield's cut.
That's time! Whitfield's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Scar shoots in for a takedown. Oh, that's a huge slam! Whitfield is on queer street and Scar is pounding down on him with a barage of strikes. The ref is forced to step in and stop the fight. Great finish!
