Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Connor Mclendon (ranked 7617 p4p, 590 weight class) and Randy Savage (ranked 7096 p4p, 569 weight class). Savage has chosen Pomp & Circumstance as his entrance music. Connor Mclendon has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Connor Mclendon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Randy Savage!
The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Konstantin Menshow and Fedor Mirinova.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A good leg kick by Mclendon.
Mclendon looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Despite the aggression on Savage's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.

Savage tries to counter by closing the distance.
Mclendon throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Mclendon rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Savage moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Let's hope that Savage has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Mclendon throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

and Savage counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Savage seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
It looks like Savage might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

That was a close round but I would say that Connor Mclendon will probably get the nod.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Connor Mclendon.
I think Mclendon has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

A relieved looking Connor Mclendon thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
The defeated Randy Savage had this to say: 'I'm talking about all the way to the top, yeah. I'm justifiably in a position that I'd rather not be in. But the cream will rise to the top, ooh yeah. Macho Madness!'.
