Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Steve Steward (ranked 3240 p4p, 417 weight class) and Mickey Sapolu (ranked 3504 p4p, 455 weight class). Steward's entrance music is CFO% - Worlds Apart. A fine choice. Mickey Sapolu acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mickey Sapolu!
The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Bruno Lombardi and John Roberts.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sapolu throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Sapolu tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Sapolu is looking to slow Steward down with leg kicks.
Steward bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
It looks like Mickey Sapolu has been cut.
Sapolu throws the kick towards the body but Steward avoids it.
Sapolu lands with a kick to the ribs.
Sapolu connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.

Sapolu shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

Steward tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Sapolu manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

and Steward makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

Steward is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.

Sapolu fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Steward has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.

That was a close round but I would say that Steve Steward will probably get the nod.

Steward cracks Sapolu with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

Sapolu connects with a good straight punch right through the guard and follows up with a right hook and a left hook! That last one sent Steward tumbling to the canvas! Sapolu pours on the pressure with more strikes and the referee has no hesitation diving in to stop the fight! Steward was done - good stoppage!
