Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sergiusz Ataman (ranked 6124 p4p, 640 weight class) and John Brophy (ranked 3356 p4p, 435 weight class). Brophy is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Last Caress - Metallica. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A punch combination from Ataman misses.
Brophy catches Ataman with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
A telegraphed right hand from Ataman misses the target.
We've been informed that Brophy has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Brophy connects with a looping right hand.
Ataman misses with a hook.
Brophy is looking to score with low kicks.
Ataman misses with a looping left.
Ataman throws a body punch but Brophy moves out of range.
Ataman falls off balance throwing a combination
and Brophy counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Ataman thinking.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Ataman swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Ataman tests Brophy's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Ataman fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Brophy looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Brophy on the wrong end of a nice jab.
A decent looking cross lands there for Brophy.
BOOM! Brophy lands a beautiful left hook that drops Ataman. Ataman tries to recover but Brophy is having none of it, landing more punishing shots from mount. One final crushing shot and Ataman lies motionless on the canvas. The fight is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:19 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). John Brophy!
After winning the bout, John Brophy thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
