PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Captain Boromir (ranked 2289 p4p, 241 weight class) and Chip Chocolate (ranked 2161 p4p, 230 weight class). Boromir comes to the cage accompanied by Møme – Aloha. Chocolate has chosen Cookie Dance as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 29 - 21 - 1, fighting out of London, Captain Boromir!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Chip Chocolate!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Andrew Berry and James Atkins.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice jab there from Boromir.
Nice takedown defense from Boromir. No joy for Chocolate on that attempt.

Chocolate thows a left - swing and a miss!
Chocolate tries to move into range but Boromir moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.


It looks like Chip Chocolate has been cut.
Chocolate uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Boromir has time to react.
Chocolate has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Chocolate takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Chocolate throws a hook to the side of Boromir's head but Boromir sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Chocolate is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Chocolate is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Chocolate is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Chocolate lunges at Boromir with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Boromir's hand.

and Chocolate counters with a straight punch to the midsection.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Captain Boromir.
I think Boromir has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

In his post fight interview, Captain Boromir started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
In defeat, Chip Chocolate stepped up to the mic, saying 'I'm gonna take this loss with a grain of salt, or a grain of sugar, and put it in a cookie, and eat it.'.
