Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jonhson looks for a takedown but Day sprawls well.
Jonhson throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.

Day is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Jonhson's half guard.

Day is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Day tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Day is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Jonhson is just riding it out for now. Day eventually gives up the hold.

Jonhson has hold of Day's hands but Day slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Day slips a nice elbow through Jonhson's hands, connecting with Jonhson's forehead.
Day passes to side control.
Jonhson prevents Day from moving into mount.
Day slows the pace down.

Day looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Jonhson is avoiding damage well.
Day controls the position.
Jonhson tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Day wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
A lull in the action here as Day stalls from top position.
Jonhson tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops.

Day is riding his opponent, not letting Jonhson buck him off.
Day lands strikes to the head.
Jonhson is covering up but some of the strikes from Day are getting through and doing damage.
Jonhson looking very determined here, making life difficult for Day.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Day is throwing punches to the body, looking to soften Jonhson up.

You can see the frustration on Jonhson's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

Day is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Jonhson is defending well though. Day let's go of the attempt for now.

Jonhson pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Jonhson tries to clinch but Day is having none of it.
Day has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Jonhson avoids a punch combination nicely.
Day shoots in but no luck this time.

Day manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Jonhson on his heels. He'll look to pass Jonhson's guard now, I'm sure.

Jonhson is looking to cinch up a triangle. Day throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Jonhson's body to avoid the submission. Jonhson has instead reached around Day's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Jonhson arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
