Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hudson Walker (ranked 7421 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alen Zalac (ranked 21380 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Hudson Walker!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Alen Zalac!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Ian Loll and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Walker closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Zalac's guard.
Walker postures up and lands a big shot to Zalac's brow.
Walker throws an elbow that misses. Zalac uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Walker's guard. Nice move by Zalac!

Zalac landing some decent shots from guard.
Walker is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Zalac is trying to stand.
Walker tries to pass to full mount but Zalac defends it.
Walker with the ground and pound but Zalac uses the opportunity to regain guard.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Walker's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Zalac wriggles free and stands up.

Walker drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Zalac manages to get back to half guard.

Walker is actively looking for submissions here but good counter grappling here from Zalac as he works his way to full guard.
Zalac bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Walker's guard.

Walker is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Walker trying to keep a closed guard but Zalac is proving a slippery customer.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Walker knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Zalac on the ground.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Walker wants to sweep but no luck.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
The fighters circle momentarily. Zalac darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Zalac connects with a leg kick. Walker looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Zalac keeps the fight on the outside.
Zalac throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Walker half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.

Alen Zalac dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Zalac throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Walker on the side of the head.
Zalac fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Zalac has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Walker is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Zalac looks to land a combination. Walker sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

Walker drives through with a takedown into Zalac's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Zalac has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Walker is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Walker struggles to land a body shot inside as Zalac controls his hands.
Zalac is defending well against a takedown attempt.

Walker tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Zalac smiles and moves away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Hudson Walker. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Zalac lands with an overhand left.
Walker tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Zalac swivels and escapes.
Zalac connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Walker momentarily.
Zalac lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Walker circles away quickly and effectively.
Zalac ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Walker moves away.
Zalac avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Zalac defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Walker.

Walker feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Zalac pushes Walker off and scrambles back to his feet.
Hudson Walker is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Walker shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Zalac manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Walker stops Zalac from standing up.
Zalac is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Zalac wants to get back to his feet but Walker is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Walker has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Walker drops back, looking for a kneebar! Zalac looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Zalac looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Zalac!

Walker takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Zalac has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Zalac lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Walker down.

Alen Zalac showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

Walker thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Walker lands a nice short elbow.

Zalac has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for Walker. Oh but Zalac has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! Walker goes limp - he's gone! Zalac jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!
