Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Frank Verhoeven (ranked 4900 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jimmy Quick (ranked 20383 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Quick pulls out of a head kick attempt.
A solid leg kick lands there for Verhoeven.
Verhoeven circles away from the clinch attempt.
Quick throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Quick.
Horrible takedown attempt by Quick or perhaps it was just good defense by Verhoeven, which made it look bad.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Quick shoots in looking for a takedown. Verhoeven tries to sprawl out of it but Quick keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Verhoeven manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

and Verhoeven counters with a one-two to the body.
Verhoeven is breathing heavily.
Quick throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Verhoeven's waist but Verhoeven gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Quick off to one side.

Quick changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Verhoeven tries to avoid it but Quick manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Verhoeven to the ground. Verhoeven escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Quick tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Verhoeven manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
A nice inside leg kick there by Verhoeven. That's going to slow Quick down.
Quick shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Verhoeven as he avoids it easily.
Verhoeven feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Quick's calf.
Quick throws an overhand right that lands on Verhoeven's shoulder, as Verhoeven tries to avoid the shot.
Quick shoots in looking for a takedown but Verhoeven manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Quick's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

and Verhoeven counters with a three punch combo that has Quick backing up. Quick nods at Verhoeven to acknowledge the strikes.
Quick shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Quick swings away with a body shot that misses
and Verhoeven counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Quick takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?

Verhoeven closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Quick's guard.
Quick looking for a sweep. Not yet Quick, not yet.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Quick is adopting a defensive guard.

Verhoeven is sitting in close to Quick's body. Quick has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Verhoeven is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Verhoeven is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Quick.
