Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Shintaro Mifune (ranked 5052 p4p, 248 weight class) and Broseph Stalin (ranked 2637 p4p, 137 weight class). Mifune comes to the cage accompanied by MIYAVI vs. KenKen - Flashback. Broseph Stalin will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Broseph Stalin!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Alan Glass and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Stalin moves into range and clinches up with Mifune.
Stalin misses with the head strike.
Mifune has a couple of punches blocked by Stalin.
Mifune misses with some punches.
Stalin looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Mifune working aggressively here.
Mifune is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Mifune is looking to take this one to the mat.
Mifune throws a head punch that misses.
Mifune misses with the head strike.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Mifune.
Mifune throws a head punch that misses.
Stalin prevents a takedown attempt there.
Mifune wants to take the fight to the mat but Stalin manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Shintaro Mifune. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Mifune jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Stalin walks away with a smile on his face. Mifune gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Stalin has managed to clinch.

Mifune has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Stalin uses from the top position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mifune tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Stalin wants to stand but Mifune is controlling his posture from full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mifune is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Stalin can do anything to dispel that myth.

Mifune is trying to control. Stalin wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Mifune thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Stalin's head.

Mifune is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Stalin is trying to stand.

Mifune is trying to work for a kimura but Stalin is defending well.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Mifune lands a nice short elbow.
Mifune throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Mifune working over Stalin with some ground and pound. Stalin looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Mifune in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Stalin tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Mifune!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Shintaro Mifune!
After the fight, Shintaro Mifune was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
