Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bismack Kagonbo (ranked 532 p4p, 54 weight class) and Zurab Basilashvili (ranked 3119 p4p, 336 weight class). Kagonbo comes to the cage accompanied by Voodoo. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

8 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Zurab Basilashvili!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Eddie Farnsworth and John Kavanagh.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kagonbo moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Basilashvili has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Kagonbo lands a jab to the head.
It looks like Zurab Basilashvili has been cut.
Kagonbo sends Basilashvili crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Kagonbo is motioning to the referee to let Basilashvili up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!
Kagonbo connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Kagonbo lands a nice leg kick that just misses Basilashvili's sensitive parts.
Basilashvili misses with a straight left.
It looked like Kagonbo was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Kagonbo lands a big right hand that sends Basilashvili crashing to the mat! Kagonbo stays standing though and waves Basilashvili back to his feet!
Basilashvili is rocked!
Bismack Kagonbo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Basilashvili misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Kagonbo counters with a leg kick.
Basilashvili is still on wobbly legs! Can Kagonbo finish him?
Kagonbo dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Basilashvili. That did some damage!
Both fighters step back and shake their arms out. Kagonbo engages and cracks Basilashvili with a massive lead left hook - Basilashvili tumbles to the floor, out cold! What a shot! Kagonbo is delighted - all that hard work in training paid off!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:28 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Bismack Kagonbo!
Bismack Kagonbo retains his heavyweight title!
In his post fight interview, Bismack Kagonbo started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
