Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Vincent Lemieux (ranked 1667 p4p, 65 weight class) and Vladimir Impaler (ranked 1172 p4p, 49 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

With a record of 9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Vladimir Impaler!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lemieux looks to land a combination but Impaler avoids it well.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Impaler has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Lemieux misses the body punch
and Impaler counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Lemieux closes the distance looking to clinch
and Impaler counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Lemieux thinking.
Lemieux throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Impaler counters with a nice body shot.
Lemieux throws a poor cross that misses
and Impaler counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Lemieux throws an off balance right hand
and Impaler counters with a stiff right hand.
Lemieux tries to clinch but Impaler is having none of it.
Impaler is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Lemieux with a body shot.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Impaler swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Lemieux falls off balance throwing a combination
and Impaler counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Impaler lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
A punch lands to the side of Lemieux 's head but he takes it in his stride.

Lemieux lands with an overhand left.
Impaler is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.
Lemieux throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Impaler scores with a counter punch that sends Lemieux to the canvas! Impaler smells blood - he's punishing Lemieux with more strikes and the ref has stopped it! Lemieux has no idea where he is - he's tackled the ref... oh dear, poor guy, the crowd is in hysterics!
