PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Lukas Hanak (ranked 242 p4p, 34 weight class) and Gracie Allen (ranked 760 p4p, 91 weight class). Hanak's entrance music is Alien Ant Farm - Smooth Criminal. A fine choice. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Jorge Garcia and Columbo Gatti.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Allen shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Hanak eats them both and turns towards Allen to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Allen on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Hanak. Hanak obviously looking to wear him down.
Hanak scores with a nice right hand.
Allen takes a head kick and keeps coming.
A slow jab from Allen misses its intended target.

Allen has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Hanak throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

As Allen backs away, Hanak returns fire with a leg kick that just misses.

Hanak feints and then cracks Allen's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Allen down.
Hanak connects with a body shot that sends Allen's belly button to the back.
Allen takes one to the chin there.
Hanak fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Hanak throws the left hand but Allen avoids the punch easily.
Hanak waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Allen.
Allen lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Allen throws a hook but Hanak avoids it easily.
Hanak throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Allen displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Hanak throws out the jab.
A nice leg kick lands there from Hanak.
Hanak pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Allen moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Hanak tries to land a front kick but Allen steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Allen! But no joy.
Hanak uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Allen has time to react.

Allen throws an overhand right that lands on Hanak's shoulder, as Hanak tries to avoid the shot.

Allen throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Hanak was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Allen ducks under a wild hook from Hanak.
Allen sizes up Hanak with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Allen takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Allen tries to move into range but Hanak moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.

Hanak looks to land a left hand but Allen moved out of range nicely.

Hanak tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Allen was well out of range. Poor timing from Hanak.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Hanak is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
Hanak throws a hook but Allen avoids it easily.

Allen buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Hanak misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Allen lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Hanak looks to land a left hand but Allen moved out of range nicely.

Hanak thows a left - swing and a miss!
Allen keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Good exchange - Hanak coming out on top.
Hanak slips a straight right by Allen.
It looks like Hanak has been trying to sharpen up his punching technique, as it looks crisper than last time we saw him.
Hanak blocks a leg kick.
Hanak swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Allen bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Allen lands a glancing blow to the side of Hanak's head.

Allen fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Hanak.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Lukas Hanak will probably get the nod.
That's time! Hanak's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Allen lands an uppercut out of nowhere! Hanak falls backwards - clearly groggy! Allen dives in and finishes the fight with more strikes for a TKO finish!
