Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Heimo Vesa (ranked 1323 p4p, 190 weight class) and Asuh Duh (ranked 22748 p4p, 756 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Heimo Vesa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Asuh Duh!
The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Lou da Vinci and David Schapiro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck for Duh with that takedown attempt.
Duh misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Duh takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Duh looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Duh moves away from the strike by Vesa.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Vesa misses with a wild body shot.
Duh keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Vesa.
We've been informed that Duh has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.

Vesa feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Duh tries to close the distance and clinch up but Vesa swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Vesa throws a combination that misses
and Duh counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Vesa stalks Duh and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Duh's face. Duh staggers backwards, shaken.
Duh tries to clinch there but Vesa circles away.
Duh tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Vesa throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Duh was covering up waiting for the punch and Vesa finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Vesa has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Duh is trying to control the position but Vesa postures up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Duh slips under a jab.
Vesa swinging wildly here.
Duh looks to land a combination. Vesa sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.


It looks like Heimo Vesa has been cut.

Duh fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Vesa, pushing him back against the cage.

Vesa breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Vesa scores with a crisp jab that stopped Duh in his tracks.
Duh tries to clinch but Vesa is having none of it.
Vesa fails to land with a series of punches.
Vesa misses with a few strikes there.
Vesa throws an overhand right that lands on Duh's shoulder, as Duh tries to avoid the shot.

Vesa manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Duh on his heels. He'll look to pass Duh's guard now, I'm sure.

Duh has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Vesa off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

Duh takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Duh tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Vesa manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Vesa looks to score with a jab to the body but Duh is just out of range.

Duh dives in for a single leg takedown but Vesa sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Duh now looks to counter with a shot at the body.
Duh has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Vesa finds it's way round the side to connect with Duh's head.

Duh misses with a takedown attempt - Vesa sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Vesa swats away the attempt to clinch by Duh.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Duh closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Vesa misses with a knee to the head.

Duh is fighting off a takedown attempt but Vesa is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Duh to the mat. Duh regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Vesa is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Vesa seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Duh for as long as he can get away with.
Duh working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Vesa.

Duh wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Vesa manages to pass to side control.

Vesa slips a nice elbow through Duh's hands, connecting with Duh's forehead.
Vesa is taking a breather. Duh says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Duh tries to kick Vesa off but Vesa keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Duh tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Vesa paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Vesa swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Vesa catches Duh with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Vesa throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Duh fails to land with a series of punches.
It looked like Vesa wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Vesa throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Duh slips a jab and a cross from Vesa.
Vesa throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Duh is looking to clinch but Vesa is avoiding it.
Duh throws a series of punches but Vesa moves out of range.
Vesa lands with a nice combination. Duh backs away looking to recover.

Duh tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Duh lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Vesa backs up against the cage.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Vesa closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Duh to the mat! Duh manages to get full guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Duh can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Vesa controls the pace.
Duh wants to stand up but Vesa is controlling him.

And that's the end of the fight!
Heimo Vesa showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Vesa, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
