The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silvan tries to clinch up.
Silvan moves in looking to clinch but Hendricks pushes him off.
Hendricks tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Silvan manages to circle out of the way.
Horrible takedown attempt by Silvan or perhaps it was just good defense by Hendricks, which made it look bad.
Hendricks circles away from the clinch attempt.
Hendricks was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
Silvan tries to clinch up.
Silvan tries to close the distance and clinch but Hendricks swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
A counter left hand to the body from Hendricks misses its target.
Silvan tries to clinch but Hendricks moves out of range.
A low kick from Silvan misses
and Hendricks counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Silvan shoots in but Hendricks avoids the takedown attempt easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Silvan tries to clinch but Hendricks is having none of it.

Hendricks wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
Hendricks keeps the fight on the outside.

Silvan moves into the clinch successfully.
Silvan stops a takedown attempt from Hendricks.
Hendricks is trying to pull guard but Silvan has him pressed against the cage.
Silvan comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.

It looks like Antonio Hendricks has been cut.
Silvan utilising his Muay Thai to score with a knee to the body.
Silvan lands a hook that snaps the head of Hendricks backwards.
Hendricks jumps guard but Silvan stands there with Hendricks around his waist. Hendricks gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Antonio Hendricks. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Hendricks manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Silvan accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Hendricks is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Silvan is aware though and is defending well.
Hendricks is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Silvan looking to sit in guard and control but Hendricks gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Silvan has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Hendricks off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Hendricks really is a fat lump.

Silvan throws a combination that misses

and Hendricks counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Hendricks.
Silvan lands a nice elbow from the clinch.
Silvan is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.
Hendricks is trying to pull guard but Silvan has him pressed against the cage.
Silvan tries to work over Hendricks's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Hendricks tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Silvan smiles and moves away.
Silvan moves in looking to clinch but Hendricks pushes him off.
Hendricks throwing a counter right hand but Silvan manages to avoid it.
Hendricks swats away the attempt to clinch by Silvan.
Whack! Silvan lands a heavy head kick that drops Hendricks. The ref tackles Silvan to stop the fight - a great save by the referee because Hendricks was done.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:46 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Head Kick). Joshua Silvan!
Joshua Silvan decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
