Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Cameron Watts!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tyce Johnson!
The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Radbod Blank and Albert Achterberg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fighters circle momentarily. Johnson darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Watts avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Johnson wants to clinch.
Nice shot lands for Watts.
Johnson tries to close the distance and clinch but Watts swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Johnson fails in his attempt to clinch.
A left lands for Johnson.
Johnson fails in his attempt to clinch.
A slapping leg kick lands for Watts.
That kick from Watts tenderised Johnson's leg. Johnson is trying to keep his angry face on.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Johnson tries to clinch
and Watts counters with a series of strikes. Johnson will be more careful next time no doubt.
Watts lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Johnson misses the shot to the body.
Watts throws a sloppy head kick and Johnson moves out of range easily.
Watts dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Johnson. That did some damage!
Johnson scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
It looks like Cameron Watts has been cut.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Johnson darts in and clinches Watts up against the ropes.
Johnson misses with a knee strike.
Johnson blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Watts escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Johnson tries to clinch up.
A little feinted left hand from Watts on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Johnson tries to clinch up against the ropes, rushing in to close the distance. Watts manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Good work by Johnson as he checks the leg kick.
Watts misses with a head kick.
Johnson tries to clinch but fails miserably
and as Johnson resets, Watts pounces with a savage head kick that drops Johnson to the mat! Johnson looks wobbly but gets back to his feet on the count of 5. The referee continues the count to 8 then steps aside to let these two guys get back at it!
Johnson tries to clinch there but Watts circles away.
Johnson rushes Watts and pushes him back against the ropes in a clinch.
Watts breaks the clinch.
A left and a right from Johnson both land. Nice combination.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Johnson has taken the fight to the clinch.

Johnson takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.

Watts feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Johnsons jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Tyce Johnson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Johnson tries to close the distance and clinch up against the ropes but Watts paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Watts bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Johnson's head.
Johnson drops his guard momentarily, allowing Watts to crack him with a picture perfect lead left hook! Boom! Down goes Johnson! Oh, he's in big trouble - I don't like his chances here as the referee's count reaches 5. 6,7,8,9...10! He's out! Watts takes it!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:18 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punch). Cameron Watts!
