Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Hiram Petersen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Taryn Terrell!
The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Lou da Vinci and Dean Styles.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice sprawl there from Terrell as Petersen shoots in.

Terrell pushes Petersen up against the cage in a clinch.

Terrell tightens his grip and picks Petersen up, before dumping him to the ground. Petersen manages to land in guard.

Petersen has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Terrell off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

Petersen gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Terrell sitting in guard here, content to control.
Terrell really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Petersen. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Terrell throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Terrell avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Petersen preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

Terrell gets to his feet - Petersen follows without any prompting.
Petersen misses with a body kick.

Terrell rushes Petersen and presses him up against the cage.
Petersen tries to land knees in the clinch but Terrell avoids the damage to the body.

Terrell has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Petersen is trying to keep an underhook but Terrell manages to get the takedown into half guard.
Terrell is controlling the pace.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Terrell throws a strike but Petersen avoids it easily and moves to full guard.
Terrell slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Terrell's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Petersen is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Terrell controls from within his opponent's guard.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Petersen escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Terrell gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Terrell stands up and waves to Petersen to follow him.
Petersen scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Terrell closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Petersen wants to control but Terrell postures up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Taryn Terrell dominated that round.
That's time! Petersen's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.



Terrell gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Petersen could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
A short right from Terrell.
Petersen takes a knee to the side of the body.

Terrell pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Terrell decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Terrell is trying to control. Petersen wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Terrell is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Terrell is trying to control the action in half guard but Petersen is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Terrell takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Terrell postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Petersen to stand up.
Terrell moves out of range of the leg kick from Petersen.

Terrell looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Petersen!

Terrell tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
Terrell throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Petersen works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure.

The referee calls for the fighters to work.

Terrell postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Petersen to stand up.

Terrell has closed the distance and engaged Petersen in a clinch.

Terrell pulls Petersen into guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Terrell keeping moving, preventing Petersen from controlling successfully.
Petersen won't allow Terrell to sweep him here.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Terrell can do anything to dispel that myth.
Petersen scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Terrell is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.


Petersen kicks off Terrell and gets to his feet.
Petersen explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.

Petersen gets caught napping as Terrell dives in and scores a takedown. Petersen manages to retain guard.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Petersen manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
This has been an exciting period of action!
A nice right hand lands inside from Petersen.

Terrell turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!

Petersen sneaks out the side door and pushes Terrell away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.

Terrell looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Petersen makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!
Petersen fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Terrell has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Terrell fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Petersen, pushing him back against the cage.
Petersen wants to break free but Terrell has control.

Terrell has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Petersen is trying to keep an underhook but Terrell manages to get the takedown into half guard.
Petersen works his way to full guard. Good work.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Hiram Petersen will probably get the nod.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Terrell throws a body shot but no joy.

Petersen is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Terrell's half guard.
Terrell is on the bottom, trying to hold on to half guard. He's throwing a few small shots here, to keep his opponent honest.

Terrell wants to improve his position but Petersen is controlling well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Petersen wants to take a breather but Terrell is having none of it.
Petersen seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Terrell is looking for a sweep. Petersen is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Terrell takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Petersen working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Petersen stalling.
Petersen tries to stand and escape but Terrell is controlling the position.
Terrell tries to roll over but Petersen keeps him under control.
Terrell blocking the ground and pound attempt from Petersen.

Petersen is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Petersen is keen to just control but Terrell is a slippery customer.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Terrell tries to roll over but Petersen keeps him under control.
Petersen throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Petersen tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Terrell defends well and Petersen ends up having to push Terrell into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Terrell gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Petersen wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Terrell manages to pass to side control.

Terrell is just content to waste time from the top position. Petersen takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Petersen manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.

Terrell slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Terrell wants to control from the top but Petersen keeps moving.

Terrell pushes down on Petersen's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Terrell in particular looking to stall.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Hiram Petersen.
I think Petersen has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
