TBD#32: Dali vs Brandis PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Arany Dali (ranked 868 p4p, 95 weight class) and Fletch Brandis (ranked 1341 p4p, 146 weight class). Brandis comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Voodoo kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Man, I cannot wait for this one!

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 wins, 4 losses and 0 draws, fighting out of Los Angeles, Fletch Brandis!
The judges for this bout are Josh West, Ryoma Takatsuka and Paul Gruel.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brandis throws an off balance right hand
and Dali counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

It looks like Fletch Brandis has been cut.
Nice body punch from Brandis.
Dali misses with a body kick.
Brandis gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Dali counters with a slapping leg kick.
Brandis fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Dali looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Brandis has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Brandis scores with a crisp jab that stopped Dali in his tracks.
Dali walks into a straight right hand from Brandis.
Dali keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
A quick step to the side and Dali tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Brandis misses with a left hand
and Dali counters with a nice low kick that buckles Brandis's knee momentarily.
Brandis tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Dali was well out of range. Poor timing from Brandis.

Dali clinches with his opponent.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Brandis is trying to break free.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Brandis tries for a takedown but Dali manages to get underhooks.
An uppercut to the body lands inside from Dali.
Dali lands a hook to the side of the head.
Dali throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Brandiss head.
A shot in the inside from Dali.
Brandis is looking to break free of the clinch but Dali has double underhooks.
Dali gets through Brandis's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.

Dali manages to break the clinch.
Brandis looks to score with a jab to the body but Dali is just out of range.
Arany Dali is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

letting Dali counter with a right hand.

Brandis is rocked!
Arany Dali has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Fletch Brandis.
Brandis throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Dali counters with a powerful cross that connects right on the chin and the lights go out! A massive one punch knock out!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:41 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Arany Dali!
Arany Dali retains his heavyweight title!
Fletch Brandis spoke after the fight, saying 'I think I'm gonna drink a Miller Lite tonight and play some pool.'.
