PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Piranha Chonan (ranked 1760 p4p, 236 weight class) and Keijo Tapaus (ranked 1510 p4p, 210 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Keijo Tapaus was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Piranha Chonan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Keijo Tapaus!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, John Kavanagh and Franklyn Lucas.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Tapaus has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

That was a close second round but I would say that Piranha Chonan will probably get the nod.

Chonan tries to close the distance and clinch but Tapaus swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Chonan lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Tapaus looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Chonan with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Keijo Tapaus comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Tapaus has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
