Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Stewart Dunkirk and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Possum shoots in but no luck this time.
Blanchard shoots in looking for a takedown. Possum tries to sprawl out of it but Blanchard keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Possum manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Possum has his takedown stuffed
and Blanchard counters with a stiff right hand.
Possum doesn't succeed with the takedown
enabling Blanchard to counter with a crisp jab.
Jess Blanchard has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Greg Possum.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Possum is defended easily by Blanchard.
Possum takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.

Possum changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Blanchard looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Blanchard is looking to control Possum's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Blanchard avoid being mounted?

Possum seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Blanchard is breathing heavily.
Possum lands a big elbow from half guard. That looks like it's hurt Blanchard quite badly. Blanchard pulls Possum in close trying to recover. Possum postures up and lands two really hard shots that put Blanchard on queer street! The ref takes a look and decides to call an end to the fight! Possibly an early stoppage but Blanchard doesn't seem to be complaining too much.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:25 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Greg Possum!
