Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Glen Jacobs (ranked 5363 p4p, 518 weight class) and Arnaldur Hjoervarsson (ranked 8248 p4p, 621 weight class). The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Robert Twigg and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jacobs tries to keep at a distance but Hjoervarsson has taken the fight into the clinch.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.
Hjoervarsson breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Jacobs goes for a double leg but Hjoervarsson avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Hjoervarsson continues to drive forward.
Hjoervarsson takes the fight into the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Hjoervarsson works on Jacobs's body with a couple of short punches.

Hjoervarsson tries for a takedown but Jacobs manages to get underhooks.

Hjoervarsson is trying hard to land a takedown here. Jacobs sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Hjoervarsson throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Hjoervarsson shoots in looking for a takedown. Jacobs tries to sprawl out of it but Hjoervarsson keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Jacobs manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Glen Jacobs has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Arnaldur Hjoervarsson.
Hjoervarsson has Jacobs up against the cage in a clinch.

Hjoervarsson tries to throw a body punch but Jacobs avoids it by throwing Hjoervarsson back against the cage.
Jacobs wants the takedown. Hjoervarsson is fighting it off but Jacobs persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Hjoervarsson's guard against the cage.

Hjoervarsson pushes Jacobs off but Jacobs dives into side control.
Jacobs wants to lay and pray for a moment but Hjoervarsson keeps working.
Jacobs takes a little break here. Hjoervarsson wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Hjoervarsson can do anything to dispel that myth.
Jacobs tries for a kimura but Hjoervarsson is defending well.
Jacobs has hold of Hjoervarsson's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Hjoervarsson seems comfortable defending it but Jacobs has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Hjoervarsson is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Hjoervarsson is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Jacobs couldn't care less - he's delighted!
