Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Tomas McCall!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Socorro Pedroso!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Winston Alpacca and Santiago Holmes.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pedroso walks into a stiff left hand from McCall.
Pedroso lands a lovely overhand right.
McCall tries to clinch up but Pedroso circles away and keeps his distance.
McCall wants to clinch up but Pedroso keeps it at a distance.
Pedroso lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but McCall circles away quickly and effectively.

McCall darts in and clinches Pedroso up against the cage.
Pedroso's coach down at Island Safe Space was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Pedroso's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
McCall blocks a body shot from Pedroso.
Pedroso lands a hook that snaps the head of McCall backwards.
McCall is trying to pull guard but Pedroso turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
McCall tries to pull guard but Pedroso won't allow it.

Pedroso looking to sit in guard and control but McCall gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

McCall thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Pedroso really doesn't want to stay on the ground with McCall. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
McCall trying to control the position from guard on top but Pedroso is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

McCall stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Pedroso swivels though and keeps the full guard.
McCall stays in close to Pedroso's body and controls the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
McCall passes Pedroso's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Pedroso wants to improve his position but McCall is controlling well.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Pedroso can do anything to dispel that myth.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Pedroso tries to roll over but McCall keeps him under control.

McCall is looking for a kimura but Pedroso is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for McCall to get the leverage.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Pedroso wants to get back to full guard.
McCall wants to pass the guard but Pedroso is defending well.

McCall wants to work for an arm triangle but Pedroso is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

McCall is trying to control the action in half guard but Pedroso is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

McCall is trying to work for a kimura but Pedroso is defending well.

McCall is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
McCall is looking to advance position but Pedroso won't allow it.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

McCall is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Pedroso defends it well.
McCall is trying to control. Pedroso wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

McCall seems to be working for a kimura but Pedroso defends the submission attempt.

Pedroso looks to land a left hand but McCall moved out of range nicely.

Pedroso tries to work over McCall's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

McCall throws a punch but it's blocked by Pedroso.

McCall jumps guard but Pedroso stands there with McCall around his waist. McCall gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

McCall jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Pedroso walks away with a smile on his face. McCall gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Pedroso connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Pedroso scores with a jab to the body.
McCall darts in trying to clinch
and Pedroso counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
McCall tries to clinch up
and Pedroso cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
McCall connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Pedroso momentarily.
McCall tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Pedroso wants to counter the offense by McCall and move into the clinch position.

McCall tries to keep at a distance but Pedroso has taken the fight into the clinch.
McCall is trying to pull guard but Pedroso has him pressed against the cage.
Pedroso blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
McCall tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Pedroso swings wildly with an uppercut but McCall uses good head movement to avoid it.

McCall tries a body shot but Pedroso blocks it.
Pedroso throws a head punch that misses.
McCall jumps guard but Pedroso stands there with McCall around his waist. McCall gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Pedroso lands a nice shot to the body.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Pedroso digs a right hand into McCall's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on McCall's gas tank.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
McCall tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Pedroso just stands there and leans against the cage.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Pedroso creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Pedroso pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
McCall ducks under a wild hook from Pedroso.
Pedroso scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Pedroso lands with a good body shot.
Pedroso misses with a straight left.
McCall staying out of range there.
Pedroso feints with a jab and clips McCall right behind the ear with a massive overhand right! McCall is sent crashing into the canvas and Pedroso leaps in for the kill! McCall tries to get to his feet but Pedroso is just battering him from every conceivable angle. The ref decides that McCall is in need of a savior and steps in!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:31 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Socorro Pedroso!
During a confident post fight interview, Socorro Pedroso thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
