Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Tyson Avery (ranked 4521 p4p, 358 weight class) and William Dewey (ranked 3743 p4p, 313 weight class). Tyson Avery could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to William Dewey's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Tyson Avery!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, William Dewey!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Wesley Smith and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Avery thuds a left hand into Dewey's body.
Dewey does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Avery just misses with a punch to the body.
Dewey throws out a loose jab but Avery uses good head movement to avoid it.
Dewey scoring well with a low kick there.
Nice uppercut there from Dewey.
Tyson Avery seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Avery connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.

A chopping leg kick lands by Dewey.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Avery shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Dewey's guard.

Dewey wants to hold on but Avery pushes him away.
Avery with a couple of short strikes.
Dewey prevents Avery from taking his back.

Avery throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Dewey because Avery loaded up on that one.
Avery tries to control but Dewey wriggling away.

Avery goes for an armbar but Dewey turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Dewey.

Dewey controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Avery looking for a sweep. Not yet Avery, not yet.
Avery has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Avery working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Dewey doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Dewey manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Avery is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Dewey is aware though and is defending well.
Avery can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Dewey controls the pace.
Avery is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Avery throws an overhand right that lands on Dewey's shoulder, as Dewey tries to avoid the shot.
Dewey lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.

Avery drops down looking for a counter takedown but Dewey sprawls and moves away.

Dewey is in a horrible position here. Avery smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Poor strikes thrown by Avery there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Dewey is wriggling around here but as he tries to escape, Avery has taken his back.
Dewey is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Avery off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted.

Avery is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.

Dewey fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Avery manages to avoid it.
William Dewey seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Avery moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

Avery swings for the body but Dewey moves out of range.

Avery throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Dewey on the side of the head.

Avery uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Dewey.

Avery misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to William Dewey.
I think Avery has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
