The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vega scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
MakGregor is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Vega asserts his dominance and retains side control.
MakGregor manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

MakGregor's coach down at Cozad MMA London was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on MakGregor's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

MakGregor blocks a punch to the side of the head.
MakGregor avoids the elbow strike from Vega, against the cage.
Vega jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as MakGregor walks away with a smile on his face. Vega gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Vega bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

MakGregor has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Vega to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! MakGregor is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Vega pulls down on the head and he's put MakGregor to sleep! This one is all over!
