PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Baka Vizsla (ranked 23582 p4p, 514 weight class) and Ade Takulai (ranked 23491 p4p, 518 weight class). Vizsla comes to the cage accompanied by Bodak Yellow by Cardi B.. On his way into the cage it seems that Baka Vizsla has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Baka Vizsla seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Baka Vizsla!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ade Takulai!
The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Bruno Lombardi and Anthony Taglia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vizsla stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Takulai.
Takulai throws a head kick that misses.
Vizsla is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Takulai.
Takulai throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Vizsla.
A head kick from Takulai lands but Vizsla takes it in his stride.
Takulai changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Vizsla tries to avoid it but Takulai manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Vizsla to the ground. Vizsla escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Takulai.

Baka Vizsla has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ade Takulai.
Vizsla tries a head kick but it misses.
Takulai has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Vizsla is landing a low percentage of strikes.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Vizsla shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Takulai napping and manages to drive through into side control!

We've been hearing good reports from Vizsla's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Takulai throws a front kick aimed at Vizsla's knee but Vizsla avoids it well.

Takulai feints and then cracks Vizsla's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Vizsla down.

Vizsla looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Vizsla is trying to control. Takulai wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Vizsla working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

and Vizsla counters with a nice double leg into side control. Takulai won't be happy with that.

Takulai is trying to escape and get back to his feet.

That was a close second round but I would say that Baka Vizsla will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Takulai shoots in and drives through. Vizsla sprawls well.
Takulai throws a sloppy head kick and Vizsla moves out of range easily.
Vizsla takes a head kick and keeps coming.

Vizsla closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Takulai did well to prevent Vizsla getting side control.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Vizsla accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Takulai has momentary wrist control but Vizsla slips an elbow through the middle.
Vizsla throws a big right hand that misses.
Vizsla trying to control the position from guard on top but Takulai is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Takulai wants to stand up but Vizsla is controlling him.

Hammerfist, elbow! yells Vizsla's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Vizsla keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Takulai's head.

Vizsla throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Takulai works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Vizsla drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Takulai dives on top into guard.

Takulai throws a strike but Vizsla rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Vizsla has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Takulai pulls Vizsla in close to his closed guard and prevents Vizsla from doing any damage or advancing position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Takulai manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Vizsla manages to get himself to full guard.

Takulai got a little sloppy there for a moment and Vizsla has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Takulai has managed to get both his arms back between Vizsla's legs - danger averted.
Vizsla bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Takulai's guard.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Baka Vizsla.
I think Vizsla has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
