Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Medusa Grip!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Rebel Son!
The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, Peter Branson and Dirk Anderson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice takedown defense from Son. No joy for Grip on that attempt.
Son closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Rebel Son seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Son.
Son really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Grip. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Son looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Grip is avoiding damage well.
Grip being controlled for a moment.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Son is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Grip is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Grip is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Son's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.

Son is trying to control the action in half guard but Grip is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Grip wants to get back to full guard.
Son is thwarting Grip's attempts to control the position.
Son seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Son's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Grip is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Son's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Son's back!

Grip has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.

Son rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.

Son is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Grip pulls his head out easily.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



Son fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Grip sprawls well initially but Son persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Grip is working on a guillotine. He's managed to get to full guard and he's really squeezing tight! Son is tapping! Great win for Grip!
