Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Welter Weight (ranked 3841 p4p, 392 weight class) and Santos Maricone (ranked 4621 p4p, 454 weight class). Santos Maricone told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Welter Weight!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Santos Maricone!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, George Francis and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maricone just misses with a punch to the body.
Weight wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
Maricone has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Weight is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Maricone misses with an uppercut.
Weight is looking to counter punch.
Maricone takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
It looks like Welter Weight has been cut.
Maricone misses with a low kick.
Weight is looking for a counter combo.
Sloppy strikes from Maricone. Those never looked like landing.
Weight feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Maricone sprawling to the canvas! Maricone rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Weight finish him?!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Weight lands a big right hand that sends Maricone crashing to the mat! Weight stays standing though and waves Maricone back to his feet!
Maricone is rocked!
Weight lunges in with a left hook that violently twists Maricone head around and knocks him out cold! Weight hops onto the cage and yells out at the top of his lungs - Yeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaah! They're showing the replay on the big screens now; that was nasty! I hope one of the photographers got a good shot of it.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Welter Weight!
During a confident post fight interview, Welter Weight thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
