PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nuke Laloosh (ranked 2595 p4p, 349 weight class) and Hughtavious Mingo (ranked 2419 p4p, 329 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 30 - 19 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Nuke Laloosh!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 27 - 19 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Hughtavious Mingo!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Don Winkell and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Laloosh throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Mingo bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Mingo circles away from the clinch attempt
and Mingo makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Laloosh ducks under a wild hook from Mingo.
Laloosh scores with a punch to the head.
Laloosh looks to score with a jab to the body but Mingo is just out of range.
Laloosh throws a lazy right hand but Mingo sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Laloosh seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.

Laloosh avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Laloosh tries to clinch up against the ropes, rushing in to close the distance. Mingo manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Laloosh cracks Mingo with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

Laloosh lands a really nice looking cross but Mingo seems unphased.
Nuke Laloosh seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

No joy there for Mingo, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Laloosh closes the distance and clinches.

Laloosh has picked Mingo up - he's going for a ride! Laloosh dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.

Laloosh moves nicely into side control.
Nuke Laloosh is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Laloosh taking a break here but Mingo is having none of it and regains half guard.
Laloosh seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Mingo does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Mingo working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Laloosh doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Laloosh manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Laloosh accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Laloosh wants to control from the top but Mingo keeps moving.
Laloosh wants to get up but he can't break Mingo's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Laloosh trying to control the position from guard on top but Mingo is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Laloosh throws an elbow that misses. Mingo uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Laloosh's guard. Nice move by Mingo!

Laloosh wants to sweep but no luck.
Mingo trying to control but Laloosh is working from the bottom.
Mingo postures up in Laloosh's guard and throws a big left but Laloosh blocks it.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

And that's the end of the fight!
Nuke Laloosh showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Laloosh has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
