Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Gennady Mikhasevich (ranked 750 p4p, 97 weight class) and Anthony Gilmore (ranked 1456 p4p, 176 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

With a record of 12 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Gennady Mikhasevich!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Anthony Gilmore!
The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Viktor Lagutenko and Dmitry Maklakov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gilmore lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Mikhasevich throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Gilmore fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Gilmore slips a straight right by Mikhasevich.
It seemed like Gilmore was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Gilmore throws the left hand but Mikhasevich avoids the punch easily.
Mikhasevich was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Mikhasevich looks to land a right hand but Gilmore moved out of range.

Gilmore's coach down at UFC Boxing and Black Belt BJJ Training Center was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Gilmore's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
