Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Damian Janikowski (ranked 5748 p4p, 0 weight class) and Israel Belvedere (ranked 7057 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Damian Janikowski!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Israel Belvedere!
The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Wagner Zegers and Paulsen Ambrosius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Janikowski avoids the head kick by Belvedere.

Belvedere scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Belvedere sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Janikowski is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Belvedere wants to lay and pray for a moment but Janikowski keeps working.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Janikowski sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Janikowski wants to improve his position but Belvedere is controlling well.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Janikowski is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Belvedere is doing well to control the position and prevent Janikowski from advancing to side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Belvedere stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Belvedere wants it to stay on the feet.
Belvedere changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
A looping hook to the body misses from Belvedere. Janikowski does a little dance to reset his feet.
Janikowski tries to score a power double leg takedown but Belvedere sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Janikowski somewhat.
Belvedere keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Belvedere really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Janikowski. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Janikowski is pulling down on Belvedere's head. It's preventing any offense from Belvedere, at least for the moment.

That was a close second round but I would say that Damian Janikowski will probably get the nod.

Janikowski throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Belvedere's waist but Belvedere gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Janikowski off to one side.
Janikowski changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Belvedere tries to avoid it but Janikowski manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Belvedere to the ground. Belvedere escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Israel Belvedere has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Damian Janikowski overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Janikowski uses his free foot to push down on Belvedere's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Belvedere.
Janikowski can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Belvedere is looking to escape.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Janikowski, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

After the fight, Damian Janikowski was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
