The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kirby scores with a crisp jab that stopped Setsen Shizu in his tracks.
Kirby throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Setsen Shizu keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Lani Kirby seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kirby throws a body shot but no joy.
Setsen Shizu looks to land a left hand but Kirby moved out of range nicely.

Setsen Shizu is looking to counter punch.
Kirby throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Setsen Shizu gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Kirby ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Kirby is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Setsen Shizu rather than just go for the knockout.

Kirby blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Kirby's coach down at Island Safe Space was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Kirby's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

Kirby drops Setsen Shizu onto one knee with a big uppercut from the clinch! Setsen Shizu is propped up by the cage and works his way back to his feet!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Kirby mutters something to Setsen Shizu before pushing him back against the cage. As Setsen Shizu comes back towards him, Kirby unloads a hook from the very depths of hell that knocks Setsen Shizu clean out! Oh. My. God. That is some seriously brutal stuff right there! What a knockout!
