Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Elroy Bernard!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Josh Kincaid!
The judges for this bout are Valeri Chadov, Aleksandr Martynov and Ivan Kurochkin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kincaid slaps away a takedown attempt from Bernard, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Kincaid tries to counter by closing the distance.
Bernard fails in his attempt to clinch.
Kincaid is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.

Kincaid gets a double leg takedown into Bernard's guard.
Bernard is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Kincaid wants to control from the top but Bernard keeps moving.
Bernard pulls Kincaid in close to prevent any damage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Bernard is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Bernard tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
Kincaid is looking for a sweep. Bernard is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Bernard is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Bernard really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Bernard stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Kincaid to get to his feet.

Bernard is trying to push Kincaid away but Kincaid has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Kincaid will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Kincaid throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Bernard tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Kincaid is in Bernard's guard.

Bernard has his hands on Kincaid's head, controlling the position.
Bernard wants to sweep here but Kincaid controlling him for the moment.
Bernard wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Bernard bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Kincaid's guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Kincaid throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Kincaid is looking to sweep but instead, Bernard has passed into half guard.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Bernard wants to stand but Kincaid has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Elroy Bernard will probably get the nod.

Kincaid closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Kincaid gets control of Bernard's arms and successfully pulls guard. Kincaid will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Bernard stands and steps away. Kincaid gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Bernard moves in looking to clinch but Kincaid pushes him off.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Bernard manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.

Bernard is fighting off a takedown attempt but Kincaid is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Bernard to the mat. Bernard regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Kincaid has clasped his hands together around Bernard's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.

Bernard is looking for a sweep.
Bernard wants to control but Kincaid postures up.
Kincaid throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.

Bernard is trying to control Kincaid's posture but Kincaid avoids it.
Bernard sneaks back into half guard.

Kincaid is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Kincaid with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Bernard is trying to get back to full guard.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Kincaid pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.

Kincaid darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Kincaid is breathing heavily.
Bernard gets back to full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Elroy Bernard will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!


Bernard shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Kincaid but Kincaid pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Kincaid seems to be working for a kimura but Bernard defends the submission attempt.

Bernard is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Kincaid lands a nice short elbow.
Bernard is trying is best to control the position here.
Bernard is looking to improve his position.
Kincaid is looking to take a break and control but Bernard is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Kincaid stalling away here and it's allowed Bernard to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Kincaid wants to pass the guard but Bernard is keeping the position.
Bernard tries to strike from the bottom.
Kincaid throws an elbow that misses. Bernard uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Kincaid's guard. Nice move by Bernard!

Bernard has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Kincaid is trying to hold Bernard in close to prevent damage but Bernard has managed to pass into half guard.

Bernard escapes and gets back to his feet.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Bernard misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Bernard throws a right and a left that both miss.

Kincaid throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Bernard tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Kincaid is in Bernard's guard.

Bernard pushes Kincaid off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Bernard gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Kincaid to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Bernard wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Kincaid manages to pass to side control.

And that's the end of the fight!
Elroy Bernard showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Bernard, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
