Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Fernando Pittman (ranked 7306 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ben Gunn (ranked 5885 p4p, 0 weight class). The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Fernando Pittman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ben Gunn!
The judges for this bout are Valeri Chadov, Aleksandr Martynov and Konstantin Menshow.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gunn has Pittman up against the cage in a clinch.
Pittman is working for takedown but Gunn is calmly controlling the position for now.
Pittman misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Gunn stalling against the cage.
Pittman drops down looking for an ankle pick but Gunn pulls his leg out and moves away.

and Gunn holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Fernando Pittman. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Pittman throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Gunn blocks it with crossed arms.

Gunn is trying to trip Pittman. He has hold of a leg but Pittman is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Gunn persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
Gunn is standing up over Pittman. Pittman looks to escape but Gunn dives into side control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Gunn wants to control but Pittman is keeping him busy.
Gunn is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

Gunn tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.
Pittman gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Gunn is just content to waste time from the top position. Pittman takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
Gunn tries to stand but Pittman is controlling from the bottom.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Gunn is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
No joy there for Pittman, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Ben Gunn seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Gunn closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Still in half guard, Gunn seems content to control.
Gunn trying to advance position but Pittman counters by regaining guard.
Pittman wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Gunn's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Pittman looking to hit a scissor sweep but Gunn is one step ahead there.
Pittman keeping moving, preventing Gunn from controlling successfully.

Gunn working some strikes from top position.
Gunn is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Pittman wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Gunn stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Pittman swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ben Gunn dominated that round.
That's time! Pittman's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Gunn shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Pittman as he jumps to the side.
Pittman is looking for a counter combo.
Gunn shoots for a takedown but Pittman saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Pittman seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
Gunn misses with a straight left.

Gunn drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Pittman tries to buck Gunn off but Gunn is having none of it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Pittman can't do much from the bottom here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Pittman manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.

Gunn wants to free his trapped foot but Pittman is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Gunn is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Pittman sees it coming and defends easily.
Gunn is trying to control the action in half guard but Pittman is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Pittman is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Gunn scores with a couple of nice shots.
Gunn is stalling here. Pittman is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Gunn seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Pittman has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Gunn is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Pittman off and has taken his back!
Pittman trying to control but not successfully.
Gunn is landing with strikes. Pittman can't take much more of this.
Gunn is trying to stick to Pittman's back but Pittman is turning into Gunn. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Gunn's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Pittman.

Gunn has his foot on Pittman's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Pittman works his way back into a safe position though.
Gunn is breathing heavily.

Pittman is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Gunn is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Gunn has escaped and now he's on top!

Pittman is pulling down on Gunn's head. It's preventing any offense from Gunn, at least for the moment.

Pittman bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Gunn's guard.

Gunn tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Pittman slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Gunn is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Pittman content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Fernando Pittman will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!


Gunn shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Pittman sprawls well. Pittman wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Gunn gets slowly back to his feet.
Fernando Pittman is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Gunn wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

Pittman drops back looking for a leg! Gunn is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Gunn manages to kick Pittman off! Pittman jumps back into Gunn's guard.

Pittman trying to control the position from guard on top but Gunn is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Pittman is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Pittman drops back looking for a leg! Gunn is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Gunn manages to kick Pittman off! Pittman jumps back into Gunn's guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Pittman is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Pittman closes this distance looking for a takedown but Gunn circles away.
Gunn connects with a looping right hand.

Gunn shoots in and bounces Pittman off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Gunn tries to free his leg and advance position but Pittman is retaining full guard.
Gunn is in close to Pittman's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Pittman will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Gunn throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

Ben Gunn comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Gunn has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
