Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Joao Pedro Mauricio DeSilva (ranked 697 p4p, 81 weight class) and Frank Murdock (ranked 328 p4p, 40 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Murdock's choice of entrance music: Flashbacks to 'Nam. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Murdock tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. DeSilva manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
DeSilva connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Murdock's hands.
DeSilva moves to clinch but Murdock breaks away
and Murdock connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
DeSilva moves out of range of the strikes.
Frank Murdock seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Murdock stands up from DeSilva's guard - Murdock perhaps looking for a knockout.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Murdock pivots, looking for a leg kick but DeSilva is out of range and Murdock settles back down.
DeSilva tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Murdock manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
The fight stays on the outside here - Murdock looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Murdock throws a hook to the side of DeSilva's head but DeSilva sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
DeSilva changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.

DeSilva escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Murdock gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

DeSilva postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Murdock is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of DeSilva, into his guard.

DeSilva tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Murdock stands up and waves to DeSilva to follow him.
DeSilva throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Murdock's waist but Murdock gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing DeSilva off to one side.
Murdock lands a head kick. DeSilva smiles back at him and beckons him forward.

A chopping leg kick lands by Murdock.
DeSilva shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Murdock as he jumps to the side.
