Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Happy Forclit (ranked 768 p4p, 22 weight class) and Brenden Abbott (ranked 1122 p4p, 37 weight class). Happy Forclit has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 36 - 22 - 0, fighting out of New York, Happy Forclit!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 51 - 28 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Brenden Abbott!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Gwen Towbar and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Abbott has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Forclit.
Abbott has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
Forclit ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Abbott throws a shot from downtown. Forclit moves away and avoids it.
Forclit was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Forclit just misses with a punch to the body.
Forclit shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Forclit looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Abbott throws a leg kick that misses.
Forclit keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.

Forclit feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Abbott passes Forclit's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Forclit is trying to stand up here but Abbott is controlling him well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Forclit trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Forclit is looking to stand up but Abbott isn't so interested in that idea.

Forclit escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Abbott gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Forclit wants to stand up but Abbott is controlling him.
Forclit avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Abbott accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Forclit is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Forclit bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Abbott ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Forclit tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Abbott is able to avoid easily.
Abbott feints and then cracks Forclit's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Forclit down.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Brenden Abbott dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

A jab from Forclit finds it's way through Abbott's defenses.
Abbott moves out of range as Forclit strikes.
Abbott doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Forclit finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Abbott throws a body shot but no joy.
Forclit appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body.
Abbott lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!

Forclit feints and then cracks Abbott's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Abbott down.
Abbott has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Abbott ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Forclit moves away.
Abbott lands a nice hook to Forclit's body. Forclit takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
A chopping leg kick lands by Forclit.
Abbott thuds his right hand into Forclit's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Happy Forclit is winning the standup battle so far.
Forclit with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Abbott to score with a decent uppercut.

and Abbott cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Forclit throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

and Forclit counters with a nice kick to the body.
Abbott throws a leg kick which misses Forclit's front leg but catches the back leg as Forclit tries to avoid it.

Forclit shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Abbott napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
You can see the frustration on Abbott's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Abbott is still in real trouble! Can Forclit finish him?
Forclit scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Abbott is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and Forclit can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!
