The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ky Jr shoots in but Hewitt avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Hewitt looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.

and Hewitt counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
A looping hook to the body misses from Ky Jr. Hewitt does a little dance to reset his feet.
Ky Jr shoots for a double leg takedown but Hewitt sprawls well. He's pushed Ky Jr's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Hewitt is looking for the big counter here.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Gaia Ky Jr. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Hewitt tries to sprawl but Ky Jr drives through with a takedown into half guard.
