Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Frank Curtis (ranked 2613 p4p, 356 weight class) and Mikey Tyson Jr (ranked 4786 p4p, 575 weight class). Curtis comes to the cage accompanied by Russian Circles - Geneva. Mikey Tyson Jr told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Frank Curtis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mikey Tyson Jr!
The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Columbo Gatti and Anthony Taglia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tyson Jr swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Tyson Jr throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Curtis.
Curtis went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
No joy there for Tyson Jr, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
The fight stays on the outside here - Tyson Jr looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Curtis looks for a takedown but Tyson Jr sprawls well.
Curtis fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Tyson Jr is out of range.
Curtis throws a series of punches but Tyson Jr avoids them all with ease.
A head kick misses from Curtis.
Tyson Jr tries to counter with a clinch but Curtis shakes him off and moves away.
Tyson Jr wants to land a leg kick but Curtis is out of range.
Tyson Jr fails in his attempt to clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Curtis moves out of range of the leg kick from Tyson Jr.

Tyson Jr closes the distance and clinches.

Curtis has been working on his balance at Scouse House , so perhaps that has help him stuff some of the takedown attempts by Tyson Jr.
Curtis digs a good body shot into Tyson Jr's ribs.
Curtis avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Curtis shoots in looking for a takedown. Tyson Jr tries to sprawl out of it but Curtis keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Tyson Jr manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Nice takedown defense from Tyson Jr. No joy for Curtis on that attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Frank Curtis. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Curtis takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.

Tyson Jr tries to work over Curtis's front leg with a kick but Curtis checks it.
Mikey Tyson Jr is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Sloppy strikes from Tyson Jr. Those never looked like landing.

Curtis checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Tyson Jr lands a nice leg kick that just misses Curtis's sensitive parts.
Curtis swats away the attempt to clinch by Tyson Jr.

Tyson Jr tries to clinch there but Curtis circles away.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Tyson Jr doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Tyson Jr obliges.
Curtis lands a body shot in the clinch.

Tyson Jr breaks the clinch.
Tyson Jr fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Curtis has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Tyson Jr.
Tyson Jr tries to close the distance and clinch up but Curtis swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Curtis connects with a jab.
Tyson Jr throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Curtis throws out a powerful jab.
Curtis lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Curtis.
Tyson Jr looks winded!
Tyson Jr tries to move into range but Curtis moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Tyson Jr doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Curtis drops Tyson Jr with a beautiful combination! Tyson Jr stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Curtis is looking for the KO!


Tyson Jr is rocked!
Tyson Jr gets tagged by a hook that puts him to sleep! Curtis points and yells something to his unconcious foe before strutting off. Tyson Jr wakes up just in time to hear Curtis thank his coaches in the post fight interview.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:12 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Frank Curtis!
Frank Curtis decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
