Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Timur Umarov (ranked 552 p4p, 82 weight class) and Don Petersen (ranked 1590 p4p, 193 weight class). Umarov's entrance music is 2Pac - When We Ride On Our Enemies. A fine choice. Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Don Petersen enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Timur Umarov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Don Petersen!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Daniel Franklin and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Petersen throws a lazy uppercut
and Umarov counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Umarov smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Petersen paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Umarov moves forwards but Petersen connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Umarov looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Umarov lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Petersen slips under a jab.
Petersen is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Umarov.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Petersen bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Petersen has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off.

Don Petersen seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Umarov thuds his right hand into Petersen's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

Horrible takedown attempt by Petersen or perhaps it was just good defense by Umarov, which made it look bad.

Umarov's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Petersen connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Umarov scrambles back to his feet.

This entire fight has taken place on the feet so far and you wonder whether Umarov might be better served trying to take this one to the ground because he's losing the standup battle so far.

Don Petersen showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

Don Petersen comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Petersen has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
